Drawings
These are all drawings I made for a class. I quite like how they turned out. They all took a while since I do not draw that much even though I kinda want to and these are all pretty big scaled. I really like how that pitcher thing turned out, I was genuinely surprised by that one. It was the first time in that class where I went, oh wow that actually kind of looks like what I was trying to draw instead of an ok drawing of it, if that makes sense.
All 3 of these were made with perspective from a vanishing point in mind as the main focus. The two square ones are with one point where the hall is made with two point. These were kinda tuff since I did not have an easel, pieces of wood, or thread in the beginning so I had to tape tubed card board to the are board, prop it up, and match the perspective with random stands of my hair that had come out from brushing… it did not go well. The hair wasn’t strong so it snapped, the card board kept shifting, and the art board fell over every so often. My strategy was not the smartest. I actually got some thread when doing the hall piece, though the flimsy card board still sucked to work with. Considering the amount the cardboard shifted I’m quite happy with how these turned out.
These have a lot more emphasis on shading than the others. The cups and eggs were using charcoal to make the shading, speaking of which I quite like the texture of a charcoal pencil. I also feel the shading looks nice on those, though I kinda fumbled a bit on the actual drawing of the cups. The gourd one was instead made used with a drawing pen, I’m especially happy with how that one turned out, the shading looks better than how I thought it was going to turn out. That one my sister advised using a lot of little dots for the shading in areas instead of lines and it made so much of a difference. I also did not really know how much the pen’s thickness impacted how dark or light something looks until this. That really helped in some areas.
